We began working with Heartwork Cafe in early 2019, helping the owners and events team to cement their place as the leading co-working space in Chiang Mai. Central to our approach was the focus on creating a ‘Sharing Space’; a cultural hub where digital nomads could collaborate and share resources while working remotely.
When designing the new brand identity, we created a vibrant wordmark and symbol that would feel appropriate in both a professional and recreational setting. The Hearwork symbol, which we call the pulse symbol, has been drawn from an abstraction of a love heart — it is also a development of the ‘HW’ characters, which customers can disseminate from the finished marque.
A gentle colour palette and curved geometric typeface were introduced to reflect the open, friendly aesthetic of the interior spaces.
A light standalone website was created as part of the design overhaul, connecting foreign travellers with local services and technology products such as print services and conference rooms. The website was built to be managed locally, with content and pricing updated regularly.
